Wendy sold our first home. We followed her directions for getting our house ready for sale, and when completed signed the paperwork on Sunday evening. Wendy arrived on Monday morning and staged our home, and wrote a glowing review that she posted on MLS. Our house went on the market on Monday afternoon and was sold the very next evening! We had eight offers and were offered $10,000 over list price. The for sale sign went up Tuesday morning and we placed the sold sign on it that night! Less the 48 hours after it was on the market! The feedback we received from other agents was very positive and the buyers loved how we staged our home. Wendy even staged our garden!
Working with Wendy buying our second home was truly an amazing experience. She listens to what is it that you need and want and is focused on getting it for you. She knows what she is doing and the process of negotiating was simple and straight forward. I had a rental property I wanted to sell in Ajax and my principle residence was about an hour and a half away in Caledon. I didn't know any real estate agents in Ajax but a friend of mine who had a relative who lived in the Ajax area recommended an agent that they could not say enough great things about. Her name is Wendy Corturillo. I decided to give her a call and I'm glad I did!
Wendy met me on sight along with my contractor. The tenants had left the house in a condition that required a lot of cleaning, painting and general repairs.
I could have spent a fortune on renovations but Wendy recommended which enhancements were absolutely necessary and also advised me what not to bother doing. Wendy advised my contractor which colors should be used in each room when repainting the entire house. Wendy also suggested that an inexpensive laminate flooring be installed throughout the kitchen, hallway and laundry room areas. This was to replace the worn out vinyl and carpet that existed in these areas. Getting Wendy's input in these areas was really helpful and when completed made a positive impact on the homes' appearance.
I ran into problems with my contractor who I was relying on to get the house in saleable condition in a reasonable length of time. He was not showing up to work every day even though he was assuring me that he was. Thankfully, Wendy was keeping me informed on a regular basis as to the progress of repairs. After a period of approximately six months, I had to finally fire my contractor and take a couple of weeks off work myself, to complete the work necessary on this property.
On several occasions, Wendy dropped by to see how I was doing and to advise me further as to what little things were still required to make the house look appealing.
One day, Wendy showed up with a couple of accent mats for the front entrance and rear kitchen doors along with window toppers for all the windows in the house! She had gone out shopping on her own time to pick these items out for me and then she even went out of her way to install all the window coverings! Although these items had only cost about $50.00 (which I reimbursed her for) they added so much to the appeal of the house.
When it looked like I was getting near to completion of all renovations, Wendy proposed that if I were to rent a steam carpet cleaner that she would steam clean all my carpets herself! I rented the steam cleaner and Wendy in fact steam cleaned all my carpets, which took her the better part of a whole day!
When my property was finally available for viewing, Wendy had arranged for several showings on the first day. After the first day we had obtained three offers to purchase and one of them was looking for a closing date that was only two weeks away!
We were able to get very close to listing price and a very short closing date.
I can't say enough about Wendy. Her services were outstanding and beyond what you would expect from a real estate agent. I would recommend her services to anyone interested in selling their home. I have another rental property in the Whitby area. When it comes time to sell this property, I won't hesitate to call Wendy Corturillo.
